Soc of Island 92 said, "We are pleased to continue our tradition of hosting great concerts on St. Maarten and even more pleased to be part of the Mary's Boon Beach Resort Easter Celebration". Soc continued, "This show, as well as our longstanding concert series, would not be possible without the support of our concert sponsors - Coors Light and Caribbean Liquors and Tobacco, UTS and CHIPPIE, Mary's Boon Beach Resort, Corona Extra, The Simpson Bay Resort, U-SAVE Car Rental, Century 21 Island Realty, and The 3 Palms Restaurant and Lounge. Raul Max Brown of Mary's Boon Beach Resort continued, "We are excited to be the host venue with what will certainly be another great beach party and concert. This is our fourth year as a flagship sponsor of the Island 92 concert series, so come prepared to have an awesome time".
JOHN FORD COLEY, singer, musician, actor and author, continues to play for a worldwide audience. Most famous for his work as half of the grammy-nominated duo "England Dan and John Ford Coley", where he's received multiple double platinum, platinum, and gold records, John also did teen films and a few TV roles in the 1980s. He has written songs for films, and continues to produce other artists.
John Ford Coley is most famous for the top 10 classic hit songs such as: "Love Is The Answer", "Gone Too Far", "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight", "Nights Are Forever", "We'll Never Have To Say Goodbye Again", and "Sad To Belong", which came to prominence during an impressive chart run in the late 70's and early 80's. Famous hit makers that John's performed alongside include: Elton John, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Chicago, Carole King, Bread, Loggins and Messina, Led Zepplin, Carly Simon, Bill Cosby, Dave Mason, Steve Miller Band, Randy Bachman, Jesse Colin Young, Air Supply, and Gordon Lightfoot, to name a few.
John's television exposure crosses all demographic boundaries. He's hosted "The Midnight Special" and co-hosted "The Mike Douglas Show". He's appeared on "The Tonight Show", "Merv Griffin", "David Soul and Friends", "Dinah", "American Bandstand", "Hollywood Squares" (A Special Rock Edition), "Make Me Laugh", "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert", "Prime Time Country", and the "Trinity Broadcasting Network."
In the mid-1980s, John entered acting. In "Dream A Little Dream", Coley performed as the boyfriend of actress Susan Blakely. Previously, in his first acting role in "Scenes From The Gold Mine", Coley played a drummer alongside Eagles Timothy B. Schmidt. The film also featured Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos). In another film "Aces and Eights", John played in a deadly 1800s poker game against Steve Railsback and Doug McClure. Most rewarding though was an episode of "America's Most Wanted". Here, John played a drug dealer who was killed by his partner. In this re-enactment, the capture of John's character's real-life killer was among the fastest captured in the show's history. In between the extensive road duty, John lives in the Nashville area with his family of wife, kids, and quarter horse, where he's penned a book on his years in the music industry, and is writing another book about his spiritual journey back from a cult to Christianity.
Opening for and backing John Ford Coley will be Ronny Santana and his Beach Band. Truly renowned and talented musicians in their own right, each member of Ronny Santana's Beach Band helps to brings an international flavor to our Easter celebration.

The Little River Band
The Little River Band was the first Australian band who successfully conquered the world music charts from its base in Australia. Formed in 1975, they started charting albums and songs on every continent and quickly became one of the top-selling artists in music history, approaching the 30 million mark in worldwide album sales and over 20 Top 40 hits worldwide.
Their self-titled first album was released in November 1975. Its eight-and-a-half-minute epic "It's a Long Way There" had been edited down for release as a single and was starting to make quite an impact, going top 10 in many countries. LRB had made a big breakthrough and they went right back to work recording a new album. The first single from this new album, "Help Is on Its Way," went all the way to #1. "Diamantina Cocktail" went gold in America and around the globe, the first time an Australian act had achieved such a feat, and also yielded another top 20 hit, "Happy Anniversary Baby". It was followed by "Sleeper Catcher", which became the first album recorded in Australia to sell over a million copies in the U.S. This time, LRB's greater success was in America, with the single "Reminiscing" hitting #1 around the world. A second top 3 hit from that album, "Lady", cemented their hit-making, superstar status. Together, these two songs have logged more than 8 million plays on U.S. radio since they were recorded and have earned LRB numerous airplay awards.
For the next four years, LRB kept straddling multiple continents as their success grew, with a string of hits pouring out from each successive Platinum album. "First Under the Wire", their fifth album, yielded the top 10 hits, "Lonesome Loser", and "Cool Change". Their next- and biggest selling studio album to date- "Time Exposure" yielded three more top 10 hits in "Man on Your Mind", "Take it Easy on Me", and the #1 "The Night Owls".
Little River Band released a Greatest Hits album in 1985 and the single, "The Other Guy", instantly went top 10 around the world, and #1 in many countries, followed by the top 20 song, "Down on the Border". They managed to score another eight top 40 hits over the successive years such as "We Two" and "Playing to Win", and continue to tour actively around the world.
Ambrosia
The buzz surrounding Ambrosia isn't surprising given the heights the band scaled during the 70's and early 80's. Top 10 hits such as "Biggest Part of Me", "How Much I Feel", "Nice, Nice, Very Nice", "You're the Only Woman" and "Holdin' on to Yesterday" have earned the band five Grammy nominations, continuous radio airplay, and multi-platinum status. During that time the group also scored a top 40 hit with a cover of the Beatles classic "Magical Mystery Tour", from the motion picture "All this and World War II". In 1997, Warner Brothers released Ambrosia's long awaited greatest hits CD, Anthology, an incredible album that spans the group's entire career. In 1999, VH-1 featured them on their highly acclaimed "Where Are They Now?" series, which prompted a huge surge of new interest in the band, and led to several more television appearances including a spotlight on TNN'S "Classic Rock" special, which tuned in over 5 million viewers.
Following the 1997 re-release of their entire catalog on CD and the greatest hits anthology, they once again hit stages across the world in support of their first ever live album. Ambrosia is enjoying their most successful touring phase since reforming. In the new millennium, the members of Ambrosia have given some of their most ambitious concert performances to date. "The fans have been unbelievable", say the band. "We're playing in front of audiences ranging from intimate venues to upwards of 30,000 at major festivals, and the fans go wild". Even in cyber space the band has created quite a large presence, fans from all over the world who call themselves "Travelers", team up to discuss all things Ambrosia, meanwhile adding fuel to what has become a very immense and loyal fan base.
Bertie Higgins
Like his great, great grandfather, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the German poet who penned "Faust", Bertie Higgins is a storyteller. He was born Elbert Joseph Higgins of Portuguese, Irish and German descent and raised in the picture0sque Greek community of Tarpon Springs, Florida. Bertie is an intellectual romantic who loves to paint story songs about living and loving in a tropical paradise. The resounding theme throughout Bertie's work: "Make the best of today lest tomorrow never comes".
In 1980, Bertie had been working on a song about a personal failed romance, "Key Largo". Bertie recorded the master and presented it to Kat Family records, a newly formed CBS distributing company. At first they rejected it. After persistent badgering by Bertie and his management team, Kat Family finally agreed to release the single in 1981, and pop music history was made.
"Key Largo" blew a hole in the U.S. charts. When it reached number one in the nation, the world took notice and it went on to become a massive international hit. Over the years, other major hit singles followed like "Just Another Day in Paradise", "Casablanca (A Kiss Is Still A Kiss)", and "Pirates and Poets". In fact, "Casablanca" became 'Song Of The Year' in all of the Pacific Rim and the album hit Double Platinum. Bertie Higgins became an international recording star literally overnight and he has continued to record and tour ever since. His ninth, and most recent album, charted worldwide in spring, 2009, on Universal Records. He just completed a sold-out arena tour of China in fall, 2010.
COLLECTIVELY SELLING MORE THAN 50 MILLION ALBUMS, BERTIE HIGGINS, AMBROSIA AND LITTLE RIVER BAND LEAD VOCALIST WAYNE NELSON WILL BE PLAYING TOGETHER ON DECEMBER 31st, 2010 AT THE BEACH AT PELICAN RESORT. SHOW STARTS AT 10:00 P.M.

Jimi's voice is amazing and instantly recognizable, he has such an incredible range, quite frankly no other lead singer can compare. We've all been listening to his music since the early 80's, and the songs just keep getting better with age. This is going to be a truly great show and not one to be missed!" Soc continued, "This show would not be possible without the support of our concert sponsors. He followed up with a stint in Cobra early the following the decade, putting together one recording for Epic Records.
He then joined Survivor as lead vocalist and over the next several years, the band chalked up a dozen Top 40 hits around the world.
Jimi's track record includes appearances on a number of television programs and many music videos. In addition to his solo recordings and his work with the bands above, he also contributed backup vocals to such artists as the Jeff Healy Band, Krokus, and ZZ Top. He continues to tour around the world playing all of the Survivor hits fans remember as well as songs from his solo career.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ISLAND 92 RADIO WELCOMES ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE TERRY SYLVESTER OF THE HOLLIES AND JOHN FORD COLEY FOR A FREE CONCERT EVENT SUNDAY NIGHT AT THE ALLEY
- EVENT KICKS OFF ISLAND 92's FREE 2010 CONCERT SERIES SIMPSON BAY, ST. MAARTEN, NETHERLANDS/ANTILLES - January 12, 2010 - Island 92 Radio today announced the kickoff of their 2010 concert season with a very special one night event at the Alley, this Sunday; a double-bill of classic pop music legends Terry Sylvester, vocalist for the international hit-makers The Hollies, and John Ford Coley of England Dan & John Ford Coley. This will be Terry's first performance since it was announced that he would be an inductee of the 2010 class of the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame alongside ABBA, Genesis, and Jimmy Cliff.
Terry Sylvester's catalogue of worldwide hits includes such classics as "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", "The Air That I Breathe", "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress", "Bus Stop", "Just One Look", "Carrie Anne", and "The Hippie Hippie Shake". John Ford Coley's Grammy-nominated Top 10 hits include "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight", "Night Are Forever Without You", "Love is the Answer", and "We'll Never Have to Say Goodbye Again". Both Terry and John are veteran performers on St. Maarten and have chosen to return to the friendly island again to grace the Alley with their phenomenal talents.
Soc of Island 92 Radio stated, "You make music your career, you play the stuff you love on the radio every day, and then every once in a while you get that big opportunity to see the musicians you play on the radio do what they do live and in an intimate setting and that makes it all worthwhile. Terry Sylvester is a great performer, he has an amazing voice, a roster of hit songs and a ton of energy that you just don't see in the groups these days. He is entertainment personified - you will be impressed, I guarantee it! And when you pair Terry up with a legend like John Ford Coley you are looking at a very memorable concert. In the late 70's you just couldn't turn on the radio without hearing one of John's hits. I would venture to guess John's songs were responsible for many a romantic evening. We can't wait to have these guys back on St. Maarten for a great show at the Alley this Sunday, it's something you won't want to miss!" Soc continued, "This show would not be possible without the support of our fantastic concert sponsors. Pineapple Pete's, Coors Light, Antillean Liquors, UTS, Mary's Boon Beach Resort, U-SAVE Car Rental, Century 21 Island Realty, The New 3 Palms Restaurant and Lounge and The Alley are all making this event possible as well as the entire 2010 concert series. Did I forget to mention, this concert and the entire series are free. To each of our sponsors, I extend a heartfelt thank you.
Pierre Ferland, Head Pineapple at Pineapple Pete's/The Alley said, "We are really excited and looking forward to hosting this amazing concert with Terry Sylvester and John Ford Coley. It is such a treat to have two top billing world famous musical acts here on St. Maarten, especially because I have always enjoyed their music!"
Terry Sylvester of The Hollies commented, "This is a really big year for me having recently heard that I (and the Hollies) will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame later this year. It is truly an honor, but more importantly, it is an honor to enjoy what you do so much and to be able to share it with others in places like St. Maarten. In years past I have toured the globe several times over, playing for diverse people and cultures from the Caribbean to Europe and I always look forward to coming back to St. Maarten. I first came here a number of years ago on a cruise and remember thinking how much I wanted to return and really spend some time here. Then two years ago I was offered the opportunity to play here with Ambrosia and jumped at the chance. After that week here I was hooked, returning the next year again with Ambrosia. St. Maarten has become a bit of a home away from home and I intend to make this trip every year. There is something special about playing to a more intimate audience in a warm, welcoming Caribbean setting that really sets the mood. It creates an ambiance, an aura and an energy that is unparalleled. John and I look forward to seeing everyone over at the Alley this Sunday and promise to put on a first class show for everyone!"
This concert is sponsored by Pineapple Pete's, Antillean Liquors, Coors Light, UTS, The Alley, Mary's Boon Beach Resort, The New 3 Palms Restaurant and Lounge, Century 21 Island Realty, U-Save Auto Rental and Island 92.

About Random Wind
Random Wind is a traditional sailing clipper, 54 ft length, ketch rigged, and well maintained. She circum-navigated the world twice and then hoped to find retirement in St Maarten....... Wrong......! People loved her so much that Marten and Saskia started to get lots of questions to take her out for the day. And so it started bit by bit that after some years they were doing 4 - 5 days per week and sharing great stories with the people who often turn friends. After running the business for 11 years, Marten and Saskia, with their two children, Skye and Sil, decided it was time for a change. On April 1st, 2007 they sold the business to Dean and Diane Smith of Charleston, South Carolina, USA. Dean and Diane now live in Sunny St. Maarten with their two children, Nathan and Caroline. Marten and his family have moved off island. They are all well and enjoying life. We wish them every happiness and endless fun with family and friends.

DIABETES TESTING AT NAGICO'S PHILIPSBURG OFFICE ON AUGUST 28th
Philipsburg, St. Maarten: NAGICO has teamed up with the Diabetes Foundation of St. Maarten and will provide the opportunity for the public to be tested for Diabetes on Friday August 28th at their Philipsburg offices.
The testing will take place during a four hour window, from 10AM to 2PM this Friday. On hand to do the testing will be Lotty Peterson, President of the Diabetes Foundation and her team of volunteers.
The testing, compliments NAGICARE, The NAGICO Medical Policy, is an initiative geared at increasing the level of awareness Diabetes. Assistant Manager of the Medical Department, Ellen Benjamin said, "It is important for all St. Maarteners and persons living on the island to realize that awareness about Diabetes is important; it has been called one of the "silent killers" because in most cases persons do not know that they are diabetics until they face a crisis as a result of the disease. NAGICO's aim is to encourage people to take action about their health by gaining knowledge and getting tested."
Marketing Manager, Jasmine Payne noted, "NAGICO has a keen interest in this disease which the World Health Organization (WHO) has deemed a Global Epidemic. Projections from the World Health Organization suggest that by 2020 the world diabetic population will double, and that struggling economies will be unable to cope and provide adequate health care. In 2005, The WHO published statistics which point to 1.1 million people across the globe dying from diabetes."
Ms. Payne added, "The thing which is most interesting about this disease is the harmful impact it has on different aspects of a person's health- amputations, blindness and the fact that some live for years with diabetes and then their cause of death is often recorded as heart diseases or kidney failure. By working together with The Diabetes Foundation of St. Maarten, NAGICO hopes to help them achieve their goal of testing 2000 people per year and promote a healthier population by highlighting the steps they should take to avoid diabetes or manage their illness."
Lotty Peterson, President of The Diabetes Foundation of St. Maarten, was at NAGICO's offices to finalize the plans for Friday's testing session, she said, "We have 15 volunteers who make themselves available to do the testing throughput the year, we go to various sites each month to sensitize the public and encourage proactive testing. Our aim is to find people who might have diabetes but are not aware; we want to get to them before complications set in. We are happy that NAGICO has opened their doors for us to do the testing."

THE RED PIANO BAR & ISLAND 92 HOST ALL NIGHT BENEFIT FOR ISLAND SINGER MAX GORGONI THIS SUNDAY AT THE RED PIANO
"MAX-FEST begins at 8:00PM this Sunday at The Red Piano featuring special lineup of musicians including: Ronny Santana, Gianfranco, Amin, Alex Jack, Naccio, Youmay, Lee, Bob, Ave, Eric, Fred York, Frankie G, Mo, Timmy, James, Maurice and Popek"
ST. MAARTEN, NETHERLANDS/ANTILLES - 24 JUNE 2009 - The Red Piano Bar located in Pelican and Island 92 Radio will host and all-night benefit for much admired island singer Max Gorgoni this Sunday, June 28th starting at 8:00PM. Funds raised over the course of the evening will go directly to assist Max in his brave and arduous fight against cancer.
Max Gorgoni is well-known around St. Maarten and much of the world as the highly energized golden voiced singer in the duo Gianfranco & Max. Most notably, Gianfranco & Max have been playing at the Red Piano every Monday night, affectionately nicknamed "Monday Night Church" for the past several years. Sadly, Max was diagnosed with throat cancer earlier this year and had to return to his native land of Italy to begin treatment.
Max-Fest, as the locals have dubbed it, will have and all-star St. Maarten band lineup, including: Ronny Santana, Gianfranco, Amin, Alex Jack, Naccio, Youmay, Lee, Bob, Ave, Eric, Fred York, Frankie G, Mo, Timmy, James, Maurice and Popek.
The Red Piano co-owners Colin Campbell and Jason Jones stated, "We all love Max and want to do all we can to help him recover as quickly as possible. Wishes and prayers go out to him, but we realize that exceptional medical treatment carries exceptional cost putting great stress on Max and his family. This event is the best way we on St. Maarten know how to show we care - The Red Piano will donate 50% of all drink sales and 100% of all our tips and cover charges (minimum $5) to help Max in this most difficult time. It's going to be the best Sunday night party on the island so please stop by and enjoy the bands! We wish to thank our growing list of sponsors which includes Pineapple Pete's Island 92, Coors Light and Presidente among many others that are helping to make this event happen".
Island 92 radio hosts SOC and ERB stated, "The Red Piano and Monday Night Mass with Gianfranco & Max have become our home away from home over the past few years. We want to send Max our best wishes for a speedy recovery and let him know that all the listeners and staff at Island 92 will be attending MAX-FEST. We also want to thank everyone for their contributions. This week, in preparation for MAX-FEST we will be playing many of Max's and Gianfranco & Max's songs. So please tune in and don't forget to mark your calendars THIS SUNDAY 8:00PM MAX-FEST, we hope to see you there."
A video of MAX-FEST will be shot on location and sent to Max, and also posted on U-Tube for everyone's enjoyment.

By 1977 they hit the Billboard top 20 with Happy Anniversary (16) and Help Is On It's Way (14) becoming first Australian band to enjoy sustained commercial success in the United States. In the years that followed, Little River Band became a powerhouse of hits with songs like; Reminiscing (3), Cool Change (10), Lady (10), Lonesome Loser (6), Take it Easy on Me (10), Night Owls (6), Man on Your Mind (14), and The Other Guy (11) to name a few. Bad Company is considered one of the 1970's first super-groups. Managed by Peter Grant (also Led Zeppelin's manager at the time), Bad Company hit the music scene in 1974 with a number one album and began touring immediately. Since then, the group has released 17 albums and had countless chart hits, earning them amazing success. Brian Howe was brought into Bad Company in 1986 as the lead singer. Formerly, he had been a vocalist for Ted Nugent. Howe's vocal style brought more of a pop-rock sound to the band, bringing them a platinum selling album and several top ten hits. Brian Howe continues to tour the world playing all the hits from the Bad Company catalogue
